Classical Greece - Mykonos and Santorini Tour

Day 1 - Arrival at Athens airport

Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time free time to make a first connection with the Greek capital. We propose a walk to enjoy the nightlife of Athens. Overnight in Athens.

Day 2 - Panoramic tour of Athens

After your breakfast, we will start the tour around Athens. This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Our expert guides will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896 (short stop).

Continue and pass by the Prime Minister's residence (Old Royal Palace) guarded by the Evzones in their colourful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma).

On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally "the harmony between material and spirit", the monument that "puts the mind in order", the Parthenon.

Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era: The new Acropolis Museum. The evening is free. We recommend taking a tour to enjoy the beautiful sunset in Cape Sounion.  Overnight in Athens.

Day - Free day in Athens

Today we have free time to enjoy the beauties of Athens. You can revisit some of the sites that interest you, or just stroll in the picturesque, paved streets in Plaka. On the other hand, if you wish to take another guided tour, we can offer you a variety of options. Overnight in Athens.

Day 4 - Athens - Full day Argolis

After breakfast, we will take the coastal road to the Corinth Canal (short stop for photos). Continue with a visit to the Theatre of Epidaurus famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then proceed to the town of Nafplion (for a short stop) and drive on to Mycenae for a visit to the Archaeological site and the tomb of Agamemnon. Lunch during the visit. Overnight in Athens.

Day 5 - Athens and Mykonos

Early morning transfer to the port of Athens to board the ferry for the island of Mykonos. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to your selected hotel.  A day at leisure in Mykonos to enjoy this unique island. Mykonos island is a wonderful kaleidoscope of cosmopolitan shops, rocking bars, quaint windmills, great beaches, homey taverns, and hidden churches all set against a brilliant blue backdrop. And it's not just the water that sparkles in the sun on Mykonos, but also the marble streets and beautiful white cubist buildings that characterize the island's architecture.

Day 6 - Mykonos

A day at leisure in Mykonos to enjoy this unique island. Or join the following optional tour. Mykonos Island Tour We start with a unique experience of the countryside of Mykonos Island. Our first stop will be the idyllic beach Agios Ioannis with the best view of Delos Island and we will see fishermen and their boats at the small pier, private chapel and houses built in typical Cycladic architectural style. At the village of Ano Mera, the most traditional place, you can also visit the monastery Panagia Tourliani built in the 16th century and then we will have enough free time for a stroll around the square, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a drink or ouzo (not included) and wish with the local people “stin igia mas” (cheers).

Next stop is Kalafatis beach where there is time to relax a little and have a coffee or a refreshment (not included in the price), before going back to town.  Exploring Mykonos port town by walking into the narrow cobblestone streets, passing by the traditional labyrinth of the old town. We will see the famous windmills and Little Venice. We will also visit, Paraportiani church and Saint Nicholas church. After the walking tour, you are free to continue your private exploration in town. Meeting point Fabrika Square, Mykonos town.

Day 7 and 8 - Mykonos Free day

Leisure days in Mykonos or join an optional tour to Tinos or Delos Island.

Day 9 - Mykonos and Santorini

At the indicated time you will be transferred to the port to board the ferry to Santorini. Upon arrival in Santorini, you will be met and transferred to your selected hotel. A day at leisure in Santorini to enjoy this unique island. Santorini is a wonderful place with a magnificent view and cosmopolitan shops, rocking bars, homey taverns and hidden churches all set against a brilliant blue backdrop.

Day 10 - Santorini morning half-day island tour

We will start with the Archaeological site of Akrotiri for a visit with a professional Guide to one of the most important prehistoric settlements of Greece. Akrotiri is a Bronze Age settlement on the volcanic island of Santorini (Thera). The settlement was destroyed by a huge eruption during the 17th century BC and buried under the volcanic ash, which preserved the whole city in perfect conditions so as to be referred often as “Prehistoric Pompei” The settlement has been suggested as a possible inspiration for Plato's story of Atlantis. The site has been excavated since 1967. (Guided Tour 1 & ½ h) Entrance Fees are not included in the price. We will continue with Red Beach Free time for photos or for a walk at the famous beach, well known for the unique colour of the sand and the hill behind it. Soaring red lava cliffs drop right to the sandy shore and into the clear blue sea. (45m) .

We will continue with Perivolos the long, black-sanded beach considered the trendiest beach on the island. Offers a big variety of restaurants, taverns, cafes, beach bars & watersports and is an ideal destination for those who want to combine relaxation, swimming & good food. Leisure time for lunch or swimming (1 & ½ - 2 h ) Lunch is not included in the price. We will walk at  Megalochori (Walking Tour) at Megalochori, one of the most beautiful traditional villages on the island. Typical traditional Cycladic houses, neoclassic buildings, and small houses dug in the volcanic rock blend together with harmony. We find here also the typical small white churches with blue domes. (25 min)

Profitis Ilias mountain: The highest peak of the island (567 meters) is located between Pyrgos and Kamari. The Mountain's name is Profitis Ilias (Prophet Elijah), coming from the Monastery with the same name located at the top. From this vantage point, you will enjoy a striking view of the entire island, from the patchwork agricultural plains to the hilltop village of Oia. ( Photo stop 20 min).

Day 11 and 12 - Santorini Free day

A day at leisure in Santorini or join an optional Caldera half-day tour with a Catamaran. You can also visit by boat Therasia Island, a beautiful small island across Santorini that will leave you speechless.

Day 13 - Santorini and Athens

At the indicated time you will be transferred to the port for your ferry to Athens. Upon arrival in Athens, you will be transferred to your selected hotel.

Day 14 - Departure

According to your flight schedule transfer to the airport and have a safe flight back home.
